Google increases search index size as part of April updates

According to Google’s Inside Search blog, the company increased the size of its base search index by 15 percent last month. While algorithm shifts were the big news in April, expanding the index to include more websites means that search rankings will be both more complete and more competitive. For marketers, a larger search index requires a greater focus on delivering high-quality website content. With more possible sites to include on SERPs, companies must be sure their sites perform well enough to attract the search crawlers
