Follow leaders who take care of brands’ social media reputations
Brands around the country are working to develop online presences that connect with target audiences and reveal their sites in SERPs, but just how much do CEOs care about their brands’ reputation on social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn? According to data released by Zeno, many CEOs neglect to spend time fostering positive reputations on social sites, giving an opportunity to brand leaders and content marketers who invest in how prospects perceive companies. CEOs neglect to consider social reputations Zeno reported that 29 percent of CEOs do not consider their companies’ social media reputation when making decisions regarding the company, while only 28 percent always consider how a decision will affect a social reputation. B2C companies were much more likely to consider reputation on social sites, though only 30 percent are constantly thinking about social perceptions. Pinterest’s spam fighting highlights quality social media content
The unfortunate effect of the unprecedented growth of any social site in a short time period is the emergence of regular and invasive spammers. Pinterest, through its exponential serge into the daily lives of consumers and marketers, recently unveiled a project geared toward eliminating spam content permanently from the site. Pinterest Engineering Manager Marty Weiner wrote in an official blog post that in order to provide users with the ideal experience, the social network needed a dedicated spam team to battle unauthentic content. Social media marketing is crucial to the success of any content marketing campaign, but just how much time are small businesses working to create custom content for social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest? According to VerticalResponse, most small business owners spend between one and five hours a week managing social media, while others spend anywhere from six to 10 hours. Pinterest marketing: Did the social site just throw its hat into the corporate ring?
Pinterest has proven its worth as a platform to help brands distribute custom content to internet users. In fact, according to a recent MarketingProfs report, 35 percent of B2C marketers use Pinterest to get the word out about their products and services, and Pinterest just made it even easier for businesses to get prime positioning on the network. The company announced that organizations can sign up for their own professional accounts or convert their existing profiles to the new business option. In order to sign up or convert, businesses agree to a new set of terms of conditions, but are provided with a variety of benefits previously unavailable. For example, business accounts users can integrate the Pin It and Follow buttons onto their sites to facilitate content sharing. In addition, businesses will receive updates on future products and services tailored to improve the capabilities of the social site, and Pinterest will provide branded accounts with case studies and best practices to help optimize content.
